Darryl Hazelhurst-Jeavons CTA FCPA ATT (Fellow) TEP MCSI
Darryl founded Hamilton Blake in December 2006 after working as a specialist tax consultant for several large accounting firms. He established the practice to service the tax consulting requirements of owner managed businesses, entrepreneurs and private clients with a more personal touch.
Darryl is a highly experienced Chartered Tax Adviser who has a wealth of knowledge in all aspects of taxation and business consulting.

Karen Wharf BA (Hons)
Senior Accounts Manager
Karen has been a member of the team since 2014 when she joined as an Accounts manager. Prior to working at Hamilton Blake, she worked at another practice in Newmarket for eighteen years, having graduated with an honour’s degree in Accounting. Whilst at Newmarket, she continued her studies and training to become an accountant. She was also responsible for the personal tax department.
Since joining Hamilton Blake, she has taken on a large and varied portfolio of clients – ranging from individuals, sole traders, partnerships and Limited Companies. Her role involves managing all areas of compliance and tax for all her clients. This includes annual accounts, quarterly accounts, VAT returns, personal and corporate taxation. Karen also has vast experience with most bookkeeping software packages including Sage, Iris, QuickBooks and Xero and is always on hand to assist our clients.
During her free time, Karen has an allotment where she attempts to grow fresh vegetables. She also keeps fit via a local Aqua fit club.
Max Child BA (Hons) ACCA
Senior Accounts Manager
Max joined Hamilton Blake in May 2018. Having gained his degree in Accounting and Finance at the University of Lincoln in 2008, Max continued to progress further into his professional career by qualifying as a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in July 2014. Having gained vast experience and knowledge within the world of accountancy and tax, Max now manages a wide portfolio of clients from sole trader start-ups to large limited companies. Max is a dedicated member of our team who ensures our clients are in the safest of hands.
Outside of work, Max enjoys spending time watching and playing a variety of sports including tennis, football and golf.
Simon Wilby BSC (Hons) ACCA
Simon joined Hamilton Blake in June 2015, having graduated from Anglia Ruskin with a BSc (hons) in accounting and finance.
Since joining Hamilton Blake, Simon qualified as an ACCA member in September 2018. He is currently working towards his Chartered Tax Adviser status with the Chartered Institute of Taxation. Simon’s current role in the company is tax based; predominantly working on Research and Development for a wide array of clients in the architecture, design and software markets. Amongst other duties, Simon assists with share valuation and corporate finance projects, working closely with Darryl and Marc.
Outside of work Simon likes to keep fit and is an avid Norwich City FC supporter.
Marc Lake BA (Hons) ACCA
Marc joined Hamilton Blake in January 2018 having previously been fundamental in helping to develop a start-up accountancy office in Norfolk. Marc graduated from UEA with a maths degree before going on to achieve a distinction in a master’s degree in accountancy and finance from Anglia Ruskin University.
Having qualified as an ACCA member since 2014, Marc is committed to continuing his professional development by undertaking The Chartered Tax Adviser qualification in the near future. Marc’s role within the business is expanding and now works closely with Darryl and Simon on tax consultancy; whilst still maintaining some of his accountancy and compliance responsibilities. Marc is also a keen advocate of Xero and cloud-based accountancy software seeking the benefits to both clients and the practice. Outside of work Marc still enjoys attempting to play football and keeping fit.
Conor started working for Hamilton Blake in February 2017, after moving over from another local firm. He was led to the position of accounts assistant due to his love of numbers and defined career path. Currently, Conor is finishing his AAT qualification which he has been studying for the past two years. He has a keen interest in the use of cloud-based accounting systems and is integral in supporting our clients with their bookkeeping requirements. Away from work, Conor is a keen long-distance runner and enjoys playing golf.
Previously, Heather has managed several successful, profitable businesses before moving to Hamilton Blake in 2010. Heather manages the daily running of the firm by taking care of staff needs, manning reception and helping with client maintenance. In her spare time, Heather enjoys relaxing and spending time with the family dog, Alfie.
Assistant Practice Manager
Jacqui joined Hamilton Blake in June 2014 after our acquisition of a local accountancy firm. Being versatile, Jacqui manages the payroll function as well as assisting with VAT and accounts preparation. She has over 30 years of office experience and has helped form a strong bond between the firm and our clients. In her spare time Jacqui enjoys keeping fit and playing golf.
Kieran came on board in October 2014. He is currently working towards his ATT qualification and has recently completed his foundation certificate in tax. Kieran is currently gaining experience in all aspects of tax as well as providing invaluable support to the compliance side of the business. In his spare time, Kieran enjoys bowling and watching the latest films at his local cinema. He is also a keen golfer and former junior captain of Middleton Golf Club.
Trainee Accounts Assistant
Lauren joined Hamilton Blake in July 2018 and is the youngest member of the team. She has recently completed her A-Levels at Reepham College and is now training towards her AAT Level 2 qualification, while gathering vast experience from the workplace. Outside of work, Lauren enjoys horse riding and socialising with her friends and family.
Emily is the newest member of the practice and started in September 2018. She joined Hamilton Blake after gaining a triple distinction star in Business Studies at college and then completing a 1-year, Level 3 apprenticeship in Business and Administration at a local medical practice. With this knowledge, Emily is making administration efficient throughout the whole of Hamilton Blake introducing new guidelines with filing and updating archiving. Living near the coast, Emily likes visiting her local beaches and socialising with her friends and family.
